I can honestly say I learned something new today. I was listening to XM radio and they had a commercial for the XM animal channel. Is there such a thing? I guess so. Anyway… the topic was about dogs sniffing other dogs butts. The ‘expert’ on doggie butt sniffing said, “when a dog sniff’s another dog’s butt it’s just”, and here we go, “it’s just Googling”. Googling as in the search engine Google. Yes, he compares a dog sniffing another dog’s butt to humans using Google.
Now I don’t know about you but I use Google throughout the day. So I got to thinking, “Just how similar is butt sniffing to Google?”.
Similarities
Do it on a daily basis
Lots of ‘valuable’ information
very dynamic
can be a waste of time
with some luck you might find something interesting
both are popular in public places
both can help you find your location
both can be social
Not so similar:
One you use fingers
One you need electricity
One has better moderation
Unsure:
Smell?
Human Google is not hairy
This leads me to my final conclusion…
